Weekend Update: shopping edition

This weekend I said adios to 3 of my Jason Wu items.

I finally tried on all of the dresses and the top and was majorly disappointed in how granny it all looked. The navy and white floral Jason Wu dress had such odd ruching at the bust that I had to return both sizes. And the blush and white polka dotted bow-tie blouse had to go back to Target. The sleeves were awkwardly long and it wasn’t a good fit for me. I just couldn’t see myself wearing it that often. And though the blouse is only $35, if I’m going to spend $35 on one top from Target, I better like it.

By returning the one blouse and two of the navy dresses, I got back over $120 at Target!

Which only meant it was time for more shopping! While I was out exploring Georgetown with my visiting friend Sunday, I scooped up a pair of bright reddish/orange denim pants at Zara.

I’ve been considering taking part in the color denim trend, and since this happens to be my favorite color, this was meant to be.

All of my favorite bloggers have been sporting this color lately and have great ideas on how to wear such a bright hue. Comparing this $35 colored denim purchase to the $35 pink Jason Wu blouse, I can 100% see me wearing these pants more often.

I already wore them today to brighten up my Monday!
