EXPLORING DC TOP 5 FAVORITES

Top 5 Favorites of the Week: 3/11 – 3/17

1. Fancy candles

It was a stressful week, to say the least. I was happy to have my sister in town, but it meant a lot to catch up on work. Add a dramatic flat tire meltdown by my Jeep into the mix, and my blood pressure was through the roof.

Cue the candles. On my lunch break I took a walk down to the Bethesda Row (best place ever to enjoy a sunny lunch break. Georgetown Cupcakes, Barnes and Nobles, Sweetgreen, Cava, etc. I prove my point) to pick up some calming candles at Francescas. Calming they were indeed.

I got the Volupsa Saijo Persimmon and Volupsa Coeur de Cassis. Stop what you’re doing right now and go smell these candles. People at work have been coming to my office, trying to figure out what smells so beautiful!

2. CSS coding

I’ve been studying up on CSS design this week. I’m not too far, but I’ve already made a few tiny revisions to reidmore. There the details that I’m sure 99% of the population would never notice, but it makes me very happy.

3. New brown purse

H&M Georgetown – $24

4. Serendipity 3

I was a frequent visitor to Serendipty 3’s main location in Manhattan while I lived in New York for a few months. The Tiffany lamps, the whimsical, and extensive menu were enough to make it a favorite of mine. Add in the Frozen Hot Chocolate and I was in love.

Imagine my excitement when I heard Serendipity 3 was opening its newest location in Georgetown this October! I had to take my sister for a Frozen Hot Chocolate while she was in town this past week.

5. Brunch at Scion

This past Sunday along with my sister and Sam, I got together with Natalie of Fashionably Broke and Ashley of Ashley in DC for a fabulous brunch. Scion in Dupont was amazing! I loved the bottomless mimosas and the bottomless bloodys got an A+ from Sam. There was a fruit buffet and best of all…. fried pickles.

Is that a Texan thing for my sister and I to crave? I was shocked none of my brunch-mates were familiar with the fried delicacy. Luckily they were brave enough to try them, and I think they liked them!

Endnote: I am so grateful to have my favorite friends and family visit me in my new DC home. I’ve enjoyed showing around my visitors over the past month and can’t wait to see Kara, Keri, and Dev again soon. Thanks for visiting, girls. xoxo
